Hao Jin, a resident of Kuala Lumpur, has successfully completed her Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours from the University of Malaya (UM) in 2021, having achieved the Dean’s List throughout her bachelor’s studies. She has obtained a Distinction in Piano through Trinity ATCL Piano Recital certification, as well as certificates for ABRSM Grade 8 Theory and ABRSM Grade 7 Violin. Hao Jin received her guidance from Ms. Nicole Yap, the Academy Director of Ideal Music, during her diploma studies at the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA), and later under the tutelage of Dr. Wang I-Ta, a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Creative Arts in the University of Malaya (UM).
With her passion for music performance, Hao Jin has actively participated in numerous solo/group performances, competitions, exchange programs, and conferences as a pianist and violinist. Some notable performances include MIA Ladies Chorus’ Gratitude -10th Anniversary Celebration at Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC), Musical Rendezvous 2015 at Nexus Bangsar South, MIA’s 50th Anniversary – Magnifique concert held at San Choon Hall, Wisma MCA, Music of the Night 2017, and An Evening with Friends 2018 both by Friends of Strings Chamber (FOS) at Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC), Triplet Orchestra Concert 2019 at MBPJ Civic Hall, UM Music showcase 2019 – Mélomania held at Experiment Theatre, Faculty of Creative Arts, University of Malaya, and UM 2nd International Music Collegiate Concert 2019 – UM Symphony Orchestra and NTNU Symphony Orchestra.
Furthermore, Hao Jin has participated in various programs such as Clare College Choir Masterclass by Graham Ross in 2016 at the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), ABRSM Music Teacher Conference 2018 held at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, Malaysia, 24th International Kodály Symposium 2019 held at Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, and more.
In 2017 and 2018, Hao Jin won the Gold Award in the Piano category for both the Asia Pacific Arts Festival, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Siem Reap, Cambodia. As a member of the MIA Ladies Chorus, she and the ladies won the Golden Diploma – Level IV in the Female Choirs Category held at Hoi An, Vietnam in 2017. Additionally, as a member of the University of Malaya Choir, she received a Distinction in ABRSM Advanced Choral Singing along with the rest of the UM Choir members in 2018. In 2019, she was awarded the Silver Award in the Malaysian Piano Competition.
